During a run that lead me from running road, to taking a turn up a barely visible trail, the Road & Trails term came to mind. I truly am among my happiest times when I am out for a run.
Rather than tie my “identity” to a distance, or particular event, or fleeting stepping stone in my path, I wanted something that would be more enduring, while still giving me some flexibility.
A few years back, my wife and I purchased road bikes to ride together. Unfortunately, I have not taken the time to really get many miles on my shiny bike (under 35 miles!). In time, the plans are to pick up mountain bikes, especially with the plethora of trails in our local area.
That makes Road & Trails a, dare I say, perfect moniker for this project & beyond. Knowing what I know about myself, achieving big goals, and my next steps, getting to & running the Boston Marathon will be just the beginning.
If you’re up for it, stay tuned, follow along here, on social media, share some words of encouragement, tips, ask questions, inspiration, for I will be appreciative of the time you take to share even a double-tap on a photo.
Until the next post,
Chris the Runner – Road & Trails
